Leadership Camp - Super Kids Junior Master Chef

The two-day in-school camp, dubbed as the “Eton Leadership Camp 2011: Super Kids Junior Master Chef”, was held with laughter, favorite stories, and the creation of cherished memories.  This special school event would long be remembered by students as they drew energy from one another and learned and tried new things, overcoming their fears and dependence and discovering self-confidence and new skills, like cooking.

Held on September 16 and 17 at the main school grounds, the leadership camp started off with team building games and activities at 3:30 in the afternoon, after the registration and room assignments.  Reinforced by team building challenges, the students participated in a seminar on the “7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids”, focusing on the value of discipline and diligence.  They also enjoyed the lively lecture-demonstration on proper food sanitation.  A certified Maggi Chef was invited to give several masterful demos on preparing, cooking, and serving yummy meals.  Other than the Maggi Chef, the kids were also delighted to welcome Captain America, Ratchet, Iron Hide, Dr. Doom, Loki, and RC Rathalos in their midst, courtesy of Cos Play enthusiasts.

One of the highlights of Day One at the Eton camp is the Junior Master Chefs’ Banquet, where the whole school enjoyed the fruits of their kitchen labor.  After the delicious dinner, the students got ready for the Talent Night where they showed off their talents and skills to the enjoyment of everyone, which lasted until almost midnight! Good thing the parents were not around to remind the kids of their bedtime!

Day Two of the Eton Leadership Camp began with fun morning exercises, a hearty breakfast, and more cooking challenges were lined up for the kids.  This was in preparation for the Eton Junior Master Chefs’ Food Exhibit.  The students were serious and excited at the same time to take on this challenge since their parents were invited to the exhibit to get a first-hand taste of their children’s culinary masterpieces!

The two-day Super Kids Junior Master Chef camp brightly ended with a special graduation ceremony.  The whole school returned to their families with renewed spirits after learning how positive habits can make them effective “super kids”.
